Harmans Wine District

The Harmans Wine District includes wineries located along Harmans South and Harmans Mill Roads, West of the Bussell Highway and Metricup. It includes wineries and vineyards in the vicinity of Harmans, Metricup and Cowaramup. As well as wineries the District is home to Cowaramup Brewing Company, which is a microbrewery that is family owned and was opened in December 2006. There are four beers available on tap with more seasonal and specialty brews planned. A total of nine varieties of hops are grown on site and these are used to produce the boutique local beers. The brewery is open from 10am to 6pm daily and delightful food complementing the beer styles is available in the restaurant. The venue is family orientated with a bouncy castle and playground for the kids.

Thompson Estate, WA  Harmans South Road, Wilyabrup WA 6284
Jane and Peter Thompson purchased the Thompson Estate property in 1994, and the first plantings of chardonnay and pinot were in 1997, followed by the cabernet plantings in 1998. New plantings include new Burgundian clones of chardonnay, a total of 20 hectares under vine. From the outset at Thompson Estate, the focus has been on high quality wine production and this has been recognized in a large number of wine show medals and accolades from the wine press. The most treasured has been the recognition by James Halliday, Australia’s premier wine critic, that Thompson Estate is a Five Red Star winery, placing it in the top echelon of Australian wineries.

Willespie was established in 1976 by Kevin and Marion Squance. The area selected for this vineyard lies on the gravelly loam slopes in the Willyabrup section of the Margaret river region.
