Australian Wine Regions

Australia has more than 60 wine regions producing over 100 varieties of grapes. Most of the wineries are located in the southern States of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory, Southern Western Australia and in the far south areas of Queensland. The highest volume varieties produced are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. There are a wide variety of climatic conditions producing wines which reflect the unique terroir or the locality. This includes soils, aspect, slope. The growers and wine makers impart their unique influence which creates the huge variety of styles and flavors which has given Australia a unique reputation throughout the world.
