Tweed Heads Wine district

The Tweed Heads Wine district is centred on the twin towns of Tweed Heads, in New South Wales, and Coolangatta in Queensland. The district also includes the delightful Tweed Valley and the coastal villages along the coast which is known as the New Tweed Coast, which extends from Kingscliff to Cabarita. Holiday makers to the area get access to three sets of activities and attractions: all the thriving entertainment, restaurants, cafes, clubs and resorts of Tweed Heads, the delightful string of beaches and seaside villages along the New Tweed Coast and the lush rainforests, food outlets and wineries, and ecotours of the of the lovely Tweed Valley. Accommodation in the region ranges from backpackers all the way to 5-star resorts five-star resorts and includes self-contained Bed and Breakfasts, caravan parks, holiday houses and apartments and camping areas, most with ocean views and great facilities. The Tweed heads Wine Region has its own airport and it is just a few minutes from the Gold Coast and half an hour from Brisbane. The Tweed Valley features National Parks with world heritage listings, an ancient volcanic crater and the spectacular Mount Warning. The valley has a wide range of attractions and activities including charming villages and towns, rainforest areas, waterfalls and bushwalking tracks, local produce, a variety of farms, food outlets, art and craft, wood galleries and of course wineries. Nearby are the famous wineries in the Granite Belt Region, and Gold Coast Hinterland Wine Region in Southern Queensland and New England Wine Region to the west in New South Wales, all just 1-3 hours away.
