Lismore Wine District

The Lismore Wine District includes a beautiful hinterland area inland from Byron Bay on the Far North Coat of New South Wales. The area is the home of ecotourism and features a spectacular array of rainforests, open fields, plantations, rustic and fascinating general stores, historic heritage buildings surrounding the rural townships of Lismore, Kyogle, Casino and Nimbin. Lismore is blessed with warm temperatures all year round with a high rainfall and humidity at the ed of summer. Sea breezes cool the hot summer days. Frost are relatively infrequent. The region is renowned for its creativity and cultural diversity and is home to an intriguing collection of artisans, divas, buskers, dancers, filmmakers, potters, musicians and painters. The Lismore area is also renowned for its villages, each which has its own character, and many have delightful galleries, antique and curio shops, food outlets, tea houses and cafes. The local towns include: Bexhill, Clunes, Dunoon, Eltham, Nimbin and Rosebank. The Channon Markets held on the 2nd Sunday of the month is also a must. You will find many of the local wines on sale at the markets, mostly with tastings available. Lismore is also the commercial centre of the north east of NSW and the home of Southern Cross University and is the tourism gateway to the region, with its own airport and many different roads leading from the city to a variety of location with a diverse range of attractions and activities.

Flood Reserve is one of few commercial vineyard established on the Far North Coast of New South Wales Australia. Specialising in naturally produced wines, the vineyard was founded in 1997 by Brian Mull. With 2.5 Ha in vines, wines are produced using very simple, traditional methods.
