Beaconsfield Wine District

The Beaconsfield Wine District includes wineries in the West Gippsland Region between Melbourne and Warragul and includes the towns of Emerald, Cockatoo, Gembrook, Packenham, and Beaconsfield. The renowned tourist town of Cockatoo is located about 50 km south-east from Melbourne in the Dandenong Ranges. The famous Puffing Billy tourist railway line passes through the town and crosses the main street. Bushwalkers love the network of walking tracks in the nearby nature reserve of Wright Forest. Emerald is another popular tourist town in the district located about 50 km south-east of Melbourne in the Dandenong Ranges. Local attractions include: Emerald Lake Park, The Emerald Lake Model Railway, Paternoster Wines, Emily Hill Farm, Sherbrooke Equestrian Park, Cardinia Reservoir Park, Bimbimbie Wildlife Park, The Australian Rainbow Trout Farm, and Gembrook.
