Illawarra Wine Region

The Illawarra Wine Region boasts a spectacular coastal escarpment, with vertical cliffs descending to a narrow coastal strip beautiful beaches and surfing locations, located about an hour from Sydney. Wollongong has recently been transformed from an industrial city to a trendy weekend escape and features great entertainment and lots of attractions and activities. The host of small coastal villages around Wollongong have great swimming, fishing and surfing beaches. Just south of Wollongong is Lake Illawarra that offers wonderful waterskiing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The area is also becoming a centre for fine food and Shoalhaven Region Wine, with a range of outstanding restaurants.
