The Wollumbi Wine Region is a tiny Region centred on the small town of Wollombi, located on Wollombi Brook and the junction of Great Northern Road, Paynes Crossing Road and Wollombi Road south west of Cessnock. It includes several boutique wineries that benefit from the exclusive climate and setting of the area to produce outstanding wines : Undercliff Winery and Studio, Noyce Bros and Wollombi Village Vineyard. The area is surrounded by State Forest areas that offer beautiful bushwalking, scenic drives, camping, 4WD adventures and outstanding opportunities to see the local native flora and fauna. There are many delightful bed and breakfasts in the area that provide an ideal base to stay while enjoying various day-trips to the huge number of wineries with cellar doors in the surrounding regions such as Broke Fordwich, Pokolbin and Lovedale, as well as the Upper and Lower Hunter Valley Regions.
