Reynella East Wine District
The Reynella East Wine District includes wineries near Reynella East and Happy Valley in the northern McLaren Vale. Reynella is a town and suburburban area located 20km south of the Central Business District of Adelaide in the north of the City of Onkaparinga. Reynella is divided into 3 smaller suburbs: Reynella East, Reynella and Old Reynella (the historical centre of the district). There are many fabulous wineries in the area, including: Annabella (Hardy Wine Company, Blewett Springs Winery, Chateau Reynella, Geoff Merrill Wines, Hardy Wine Company (Reynella), Mount Hurtle Winery, Omni, Patritti Vineyards, Reynell, St Francis Wines. Reynella is home to the renowned St Francis Winery Resort, a 41-suite property lof 5 acres with views of Lake Carew Reynell. The new resort buildings surrounding
the historic original winery building dating from around 1852. Reynella is claimed to
be the location where the first grape vines were planted in South Australia.
The original winery building was built by Walter Reynell. It is now used as a
conference centre and is famous as one of the premier wedding venues in South Australia.
Reynella is the gateway to the Mclaren Vale Wine region and St Francis Winery Resort
is the perfect place to stay and used as a base for wine tours to the area.
The picturesque resort offers fabulous accommodation, indoor heated swimming pool,
a gaming lounge (18+), a sauna and a charming bistro serving a range of local wines.
